The Alco Valves Group Ltd are delighted to announce that its XC range of Double Block and Bleed Valves is now qualified to SHELL MESC specification MESC SPE 77/300 witnessed by Lloyds.
Why test to MESC 77/300/A/B:
This MESC covers the requirements and method for evaluating the performance of industrial valves when they are exposed to the limits of their design conditions. This ensures that the XC range of Double Block and Bleed Valves is suitable for super critical applications and provides confidence that the components within the valve can deal with the most critical applications throughout its life.
The Alco XC DBB Valve
The XC Double Block and Bleed Valve size and pressure selected was the most optimum to cover the qualification range from 1/2" to 2" from class 150lbs up to class 2500lbs. In order to qualify this range, the XC was put through a series of stringent tests including functionality and fugitive emissions testing at ambient, elevated temperatures, the minimum operating temperature and the minimum seal and survive temperature before returning to ambient temperature for final functionality and fugitive emissions testing. The total number of operational cycles was over 200 through the series of thermal cycles demonstrating sound performance throughout and fugitive emissions never exceeding the class B permissible levels. The testing covered all internationally recognised standards such as API-598, ISO 15848-Part 1 and BS-ISO-28921-2:2015.
The Alco XC range of DBB valve is a quality engineered product designed and manufactured in the UK under ISO 9001 using the latest machine technology. If you require further information regarding the XC range of qualifications please contact your nearest sales office.
